Mission

The mission of the Free Hugs Livermore Campaign is to catalog all the types of hugs we get and put them up on our website. We also want to see how many total hugs we get in a year.

Hug Types

A-Frame Hug - when two people hug keeping some distance between them creating the shape of the capital letter A.
Photo Opportunity Hug - when two or more people put arms around the other's waist or shoulder and both stand facing the same direction, towards a camera or audience
The Cuddle - when two people hug in a tight embrace with no space between them
The Man Hug - when two people, normally men, shake hands and while still shaking, lean in and give a fast hug with their upper bodies
Lift and Spin Hug - when one of the huggers lifts the other off the ground and spins them in the air
Run and Jump Hug or Across the Threshold Hug - when one of the huggers runs up to and jumps into the arms of the other, placing their arms around their neck
Koala or Side On Hug - when one hugger stands at the side and places his arms on the shoulders of the other giving the appearance of a koala hugging a tree
Surprise Hug - when one hugger comes up behind the other hugger without them knowing and hugs them from behind
Arms Length Hug - when one hugger grabs the other from an arm's length. Unlike the A-frame hug, the upper bodies do not come close or touch
Group Hug - when more than two people all simultaneously hug in a group
Bear Hug - when one hugger wraps their arms around the other and gives a strong squeeze
Arm Hug - when one huggers grabs and hugs the arm of the other hugger
Bended Knee Hug - when one hugger drops to a knee in order to be able to comfortably hug the other
